99. People like to listen to praises

Image
People like to listen to good words. As most people like to be praised. They are many rhetorical devices developed to please people. We have street-wise people talking about the middle path. They always talk about middle path, never agree with the extreme scenarios. They always painted a rosy picture even the situation was bad. They would say somethings good to cushion the effects of bad situation. We have people talking about euphemism. A better term for a word, indirect word or phrase that people often use to refer to embarasing or unpleasant. For example: retraining centre instead of prison camp, quantitative easing instead of printing more money, unusual uncertainty instead of weak economic recovery which provides the soothing effect. We have salesmen talking about benefits of products and leave the fine prints for your reading pleasure. We have people talking about other people weaknesses and leave out theirs own short coming. When we listen to only one-sided story. Be careful, so

97. Why men have more heart attack?

Image
When I look for reasons as why men are more prone to heart attack. I begin to see clues. "According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, several risk factors put men at more risk for heart disease because these risk factors are more prevalent in men. These factors include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, poor diet, cigarette smoking, lack of exercise and alcohol consumption.' I personally feel that the autonomic nervous system of men are different from women. (Also muscle structure, lung capacity). Hope they are more researchers look into these areas of field work. When men playing badminton, running, swimming or sleep, there are chances that heart attack can hit them. I notice that there are two types of heart attack for men. One is for a group of healthy male who have engaging active sports, who have been taking part in competitive sports. The other group is men who have underlining heart problems. For the first active group, heart attack can b

96. China in your hands.

Don't push so hard, it is no good for ourselves, it is no good for others. Life is fragile. You never know what is going to happen tomorrow. A calm sea can become aftermath of a tsunami. Whether we believe in some religious teachings: Life is suffering, accept it or this world is not my world. However they bring out a point about life; life is indeed fragile, conditioned things are impermanent. Having said that we need to keep optimism in life. Live simple in life then we would be able to manage more stress and be less worry. I wish we could put N ew Y ork, Lon don in our hands. I was told that the name of Nylon was originated from combining Ny and Lon. In life, Nylon symbolises strong, toughness and resilence. "When you follow your own dreams you are putting Nylon in Your Hands. When you follow other people dreams you are putting China in Your Hands." - Simon Kong

95. It is hard to believe we were born different.

Image
I wish we were born the same. It is hard to believe that we were born different. I can see we were born differently in three aspects: 1) We were born genetically different, 2) We were born in different countries ie Sweden or Nepal, 3) We were even born differently within a family. We live in different environments and the environments influence our behaviours. Did we share with the same values when we were born? We did not share with the same values but we can cultivate common shared values; values we believe in. Values such as kindness, social justice, equality, equal opportunity, strike for excellence, religion freedom. Leaders have the power and responsibility to encourage the bidding of these good values for the growth of the society. People with different background can work together for the common goods. The common goods are better living, better knowledge and happiness. Stress on mankind common destiny and to strike for more harmonies in a society. To do that first cultivate a

94. Awareness and Change

Image
For a mind to change in perception, first it needs awareness. It takes 40 years for MD and Psychologist in America to acknowledge the presence and the power of Neurofeedback. So I think it will take sometime here for our people to accept it. EEG Biofeddback has contributed to health industries, enhanced peak performance in sport, game & music, unleashed brain potential and facilitated learning. EEG training which started from USA is a relatively new industry sector and it has 50 years of history. Good outcomes of EEG Biofeedback brainwave and mind training are Olympics 2008 shooting record, World Cup 2006 Italian champion and Royal School of Music's genius musician study in 2003.

93. Stroke implies irregular blood & oxygen flow pattern in a brain

Image
Stroke is tricky, and the damaging effect of stroke is long and lasting. As the brain functions are affected and hence the bodily movement is also affected. As bloods link to the body and the mind. Any disruption of blood and oxygen flow would cause serious effect on the mind and the body. I read a good piece of information on fast stroke detector:STR S *Ask the individual to SMILE. T *Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (i.e. It is sunny out today.or any sentence in the patient's own language) R Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS." - Medicine By performing STR check , it can tell alot on the health of limbic system, the left brain, the motor functions and the health of the liver and spleen. To 'continue the STROKE' I just ask a further question of OK or not OK. If not OK then call Emergency service. Now. We have completed the 'STR OK E' checklist. This acronym helps us to remember whenever such situation pop up. Another 'sign

92. Addiction

Image
"addiction has been defined with regard solely to psychoactive substances (for example alcohol, tobacco and other drugs) which cross the blood-brain barrier once ingested, temporarily altering the chemical milieu of the brain. Many people, both psychology professionals and laymen, now feel that there should be accommodation made to include psychological dependency on such things as gambling, food, sex, pornography, computers, video games, internet, work, exercise, idolising, watching TV or certain types of non-pornographic videos, spiritual obsession, cutting and shopping so these behaviors count as 'addictions'- Wikipedia Addiction involves emotion so the stronger the emotion attachments the stronger the addictive reponses. How to overcome addiction? Here are some alternatives 1) Brainwave training 2) Addiction reduction : five steps model 3) CBT - face the problems directly 4) Remove emotional baggage(a variety of method) 5) Change to a new environment 6) Prayer, meditat
