106. A New Education Model - Teach the brain first

Teach the brain first is a new education model offers by EEG Asia. Yes. There are many levels of teaching and learning. You first teach a brain to learn then the brain will find its solution to learn a new subject, to relearn an old subject and to create a new subject of interest. Defintion of "a subject": A subject can be any learning subjects of interest, it can be an old habit, and it can be an inherent brain weakness, it can be a study subject. Motivation to learn or to change, it must come from the brain itself through neurons connection. Educate a brain to learn and relearn is a new paradigm shift. Once a brain is in a good state, your engagement of mastering a subject or learning a new subject, new trade has become very effective.

105. Insomnia

Image
Insomnia is a habit. Insomnia and sleep apnea are medical terms. There are medical and surgical solution to these symptoms. When we look at insomnia as a brain habit then a new set of solution will be found: Train the brain to change its habit will lead us out of the vicious cycle of insomnia. The first step is to reduce your anxiety level, change your lifestyle. Change the way you take in oxygen for the brain. "Insomnia is when a body and a mind are refused to talk to each other." - Simon Kong EEG Biofeedback Brainwave Trainer, Simon Kong.

104. Brain Stability

Image
I have thought of writing a subject on brain stability. here someone did it more professionally ScienceDaily (Mar. 7, 2011) — A new study finds that a brain rhythm considered the hallmark of wakefulness not only persists inconspicuously during sleep but also signifies an individual's vulnerability to disturbance by the outside world. In their report in the March 3 PLoS One, the team from the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Division of Sleep Medicine uses computerized EEG signal processing to detect subtle fluctuations in the alpha rhythm during sleep and shows that greater alpha intensity is associated with increased sleep fragility. The findings could lead to more precise approaches to inducing and supporting sleep. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/03/110303184107.htm "We found that the alpha rhythm is not just a marker of the transition between sleep and wakefulness but carries rich information about sleep stability," says Scott McKinney, informatics manag

103. Contentment leads to Calmness

Image
When we have contentment we gain calmness. Once we have calmness we can set out what we want to achieve in life. In religious teaching, one purpose is to teach us to understand the true meaning of no attachment. People learn it from different religious texts, prayer, ritual, mantra meditation or by their own expereince or by self-reflection so once the truth is manifested there is an inner sense of calmness or equanimity. "So contentment isn’t a matter with being content with your situation in life and never trying to improve it. It’s a matter of being content with what you have — but realizing that as humans, we will always try to improve, no matter how happy we are. If we don’t, we have given up on life." - zenhabits “Happiness is self-contentedness.” - Aristotle With contentment you befriend within yourself.

102. Life Expectancy

Image
People expect life can go on and on for many years. Some even expect life expectancy can reach 85 and beyond. With air and water pollution and so many viruses around I doubt this figure is realistic. In reality when we look at obituary pages you would be surprised to see the number is surprising low. It is not wise to look at life as a perpetual multiplication of ten years. The best is look at it every two and half minutes interval. How many of us can hold a breath for more than 2.5 minutes? truly. Why we need to be so mindful of 2.5min life cycle? beacuse money is unlimited, work is unlimited but life is limited. Having a concept of value life today as if tomorrow is never come. Improve our life in every way and to live it to the fullest. Ths sooner we realise this concept the better the quality of life it will be. Life is repeating cycle of 2.5mins until the cycle hits a wall, any wall. - Simon Kong

101 Habit, Experience and Irrational Response

Image
We are the victim of our own experience, habits and irrational responses. When we see and heard people (including ourselves) behaved and responded in certain ways or irrational ways, perhaps we would like to pause for a while and ponder upon... What background did that person (ourselves) have? They might come from different religion belief, different upbringing experience and exposure especially in their teenager/ childhood time. Change the way we behaved has to be supported by rational means and efforts. A body, a mind, a spirit needs not to defense what it is right or wrong all the time. Acknowledege the differences of opinion or approach will make us enjoy a better life. How to get the act right? 1) Reduce our nature of hypervigilance. 2) Exercise our common sense. 3) Reflect and ruminate three times daily. 4) Having a positive ritual for all activities that we do.
